Texas jury acquits man who killed an escort for not sleeping with him
6/6/2013
A jury in Bexar County, Texas, has ruled that the murder of a Craigslist escort was justified since the shooter was trying to get his money back after the escort wouldn't have sex with him. Avoiding a lifetime prison sentence, 30-year-old Ezekiel Gilbert admitted to shooting 23-year-old Lenora Ivie Frago after giving her $150, believing he was paying for sexual services. As Frago attempted to leave, Gilbert shot her in the neck, which paralyzed her and caused her to die seven months later. The jury ruled in favor of the defense, citing a Texas law that allows citizens to use deadly force to prevent theft of property. [Source]
